Distance learning continues. As ordered by Governor Walz, distance learning will continue through the end of the current school year.

Loosening of business restrictions. Governor Walz laid out a plan to gradually loosen restrictions on businesses over time, allowing certain non-critical businesses to return to work beginning April 27. Prior to loosening restrictions, businesses must: create and implement a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan regarding social distancing, hygiene, cleaning, and disinfection; engage in health screening of employees; and continue to work from home whenever possible.

Obtaining essential services. To alleviate economic hardship for Minnesotans, Executive Order 20-42 allows Minnesotans to obtain and maintain access to essential services regardless of whether they receive COVID-19 assistance.

Increased testing. Governor Walz announced a partnership with health care systems, establishing capacity to deliver 20,000 molecular and 15,000 serology tests per day. The Minnesota Department of Health will also expand contact tracing efforts to identify and respond to emerging “hotspots.”
