Participants lined up for a group photo before the start of the 3 hour race: (left to right) David Lenahan (St. Paul) was 4th overall; Joe Calaguire (Keewatin) was 2nd overall; Bill Helwig (Barnum) was first in 60 year old male division; Steve Sorenson (Savage) was first in 50 year old male division; and Sam Jacobson (Wrenshall) was 3rd overall.

Runners from across the state converged on Moose Lake for the Frozen Moose 2 mile, 5 mile, and 3 hour snowshoe and running events on February 29 at the Moose Lake Depot.

Despite the chillier temps in the morning, 86 participants registered for the different events.

Race organizers wanted to thank all the volunteers and supporters, with special thanks to Samantha Frey and Mae Gacksetter of the Northern Minnesota Track Club Board of Directors who helped at the finish line.

"Their expertise and experience were invaluable!" said race director Rick Bothwell.
