Pine County Solicits Surveys for the North Pine Transfer Station

February 27, 2020

Surveys are being solicited to guide the County Solid Waste Department on future improvements at the North Pine Transfer Station. The North Pine Transfer Station, located at 85174 County Highway 61, Willow River was opened in July of 2019. The purpose of the project was to facilitate a more orderly and cost effective recycling service than the previous unstaffed recycling sheds in Willow River. Also, acknowledging that the nearest transfer stations are in Carlton and Hinckley, the County saw a need for more convenient drop-off of garbage, demolition debris, and bulky recyclables such as appliances, tires, scrap metal, etc.

Because this service is new, we want to make sure that we are serving the community in the best way we can. Community responses will help guide any possible changes or improvements to the program.

The County invites residents to complete the survey online at or by picking up a paper copy at North Pine Transfer Station. Surveys will be collected February 21 through March 19.

For more information visit the Pine County website at and visit the Solid Waste Department page.
