The Lady Rebels were out to settle a score after falling to Hibbing-Chisholm twice during the regular season. They traveled to Hibbing for their first tournament game on the February 4.

The Rebels looked confident as they warmed up on the ice before the first puck would fall. Hibbing started out the night scoring first as Allie Bussey hit an unassisted shot through the pipes at the 13:54 mark in the first period. It wasn't until 3:31 into the second period before the Rebels' Raechel Painovich, with the assist from Jamie Benzie, tied the score up. Hibbing once again took the lead at the 5:28 mark of the second period as Courtney Anderson, with the assist from McKenna Folstad, found the net. Hibbing took a 2-1 lead over the Rebels going into the third period.

The Rebels stayed in it as Sandra Ribich, with the assists coming from Hallie Klavu and Gabby Gamst, once again tied the game up at the 8:25 mark of the third period. Regulation time ended with a 2-2 tie, forcing both teams into overtime.

Overtime was a battle of goalies as neither would allow any scoring. Several times I could hear the ring of the puck hitting the pipes and bouncing out. The first overtime ended with neither side scoring, sending the game into a second overtime.

The second overtime began and ended much the same as the first as both goalies fended off attacks. The game came to an end at 1:41 into the third overtime as Hibbing's McKenna Folstad, with the assist from Megan Bussey, slid the puck past Rebels' Jo Wekseth.

Jo Wekseth faced 56 shots on goal and fended off 53 while Addison Hess of Hibbing faced 30 shots on goal, stopping 28 of them. The Lady Rebels season came to an end with the 3-2 loss in a triple overtime hard fought battle.
