Bocce teams hit the ice

The Ice Bocce Champions were "We're # 1" (they dressed up as McDonalds #1).

On Saturday, February 8, at the Moose Lake City Park, the Moose Lake Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their 3rd Annual Ice Bocce Tournament Event benefiting the post prom committees of Willow River, Moose Lake, and Barnum schools. The weather could not have been more perfect to be outside-a cool 20 degrees and the sun shining all day. This year was Ice Bocce's biggest turnout with 24 teams. This year along with having an Ice Bocce Champions team, there was a best team name and best team costume. Every year continues to grow with teams returning and new teams signing up.

Ice Bocce is a combination of curling and bowling and done on the ice! After you play your first time you can't wait for it to return. We have teams that plan their winter vacation around this event. We have participants as far away as the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Duluth. We had great local support as well from businesses donating monetary funds to donating time and materials.

Thank you to the following: Augustana Care Moose Lake, Edward Jones - Tia Grutkoski, Escape by Travel - Penny Gellatly, First National Bank of Moose Lake, Gateway Family Health Clinic, Moose Lake Power, Northwoods Credit Union of Moose Lake, Raven and Ruby Salon and Spa, Roth Chiropractic and Massage, Aardvark Septic Pumping, Federated Co-Op, JJ's Bottle Shop, Marketplace Foods, Moose Lake Brewing Company, Moose Lake Implement, Moose Lake Muni, Nordstrom's Sanitation, TJ's Country Corner, United Country Real Estate, WKLK/WMOZ Radio.
