The Duluth, MN based nonprofit, If the Dress Fits, is proud to announce after years of giving away hundreds of prom dresses they are embarking on a northern Minnesota free prom dress giveaway tour. Due to overwhelming prom dress donations, they have enough dresses to bring their inventory on the road.

The tour includes:

Moorhead, Feb. 8th-9th at MSUM (see Facebook for full event times)

Littlefork, Feb. 22nd at the LBF School 2-5 p.m.

Barnum, Feb. 23rd in the media center at Barnum High School 2-4 p.m.

Duluth, March 15-16th at Bella Rose Bridal (see Facebook for full event times)

All dresses are free. Donations are accepted to off-set storage and travel expenses for the events.

Full event details and times can be found on If the Dress Fits Facebook page: facebook.com/ifthedressfits101/

In addition to the four communities, If the Dress Fits works with organizations such as A Night to Shine and Northwood Children's Services. Prom dresses are donated throughout the year and re-distributed at the annual event to teens in need. No proof of hardship is required. The teen that the dress is for needs to be present & school ID required.

The cost of prom dresses can be expensive for many families. Families are paying between $200-$600 for a dress that the student will only wear once. It is this cost that is making attending prom less realistic for families experiencing financial hardship.

If the Dress Fits believes that all teens, regardless of their family's ability to pay should be able to have the perfect prom dress. If the Dress Fits was started by former Esko high school senior & MSUM alum, Ashleigh Arntson and is now a daughter/mother nonprofit duo. In its fifth year, If the Dress Fits has provided hundreds of free dresses to teens across Minnesota. If the Dress Fits has officially outgrown the family's home and all dresses are now located in a temperature controlled storage facility.
