Good deeds go a long way

The snow piles are high and the stress even higher for those of us in Minnesota that have to shovel it. For some, especially the elderly, having to clear a path from their house or around their mailbox can be a monumental task.

That's when small but important acts of kindness can really make a difference. The two siblings pictured to the left, Dalton and Zoey, took it upon themselves (along with a retired teacher from the neighborhood) to shovel out their neighbors' mailboxes after the heavy snow storms. The two kids and their mother only recently moved to the area but their presence has certainly been noted.

"I was so impressed that I just wanted to recognize them," said neighbor Danae Lambert, who wanted to express her appreciation for their kindness.

Not only does this help the neighbors, but the postal workers who deliver the mail as well.

Winter can be a tough time, but with a bit of spirit and determination like Zoey and Dalton, we can help dig each other out of the snow.
