Lady Rebels fall to Lumberjacks, 5-1

The Lady Rebels Hockey took to the ice to host the Lumberjacks of Cloquet-Esko-Carlton on December 20.

The first period belonged to the Lumberjacks as their Dana Jones found the net unassisted at the 8:20 mark of the first period. The Lumberjacks again scored in the first period as Kiana Bender slid the puck through the pipes at the 14:59 point of the first period with the assists coming from Dea Deleon and Taylor Nelson. The Lumberjacks took a 2-0 lead into the second period.

The second period again belonged to the Lumberjacks as Kiana Bender found the net again at 1:02 into the period with the assist coming from Taylor Nelson. The Lumberjacks scored again as Dana Jones pushed the puck past the Rebels' Jo Wekseth in goal, with the assist coming from Lauren Cawcutt at 12:02. The second period would end with the Lumberjacks leading 4-0.

The Lumberjacks scored their fifth and final point in the third period at 3:26 minutes as Taylor Nelson found the net with the assists coming from Dea Deleon and Emmie Ellena. The Rebels would not go down without a fight as at 3:46 into the period Savannah Gamst shot the puck past the Lumberjacks’ goalie with the assist coming from Sandra Ribich. Rebels' Jo Wekseth stood strong in the goal, racking up 46 saves, while the Lumberjacks would only have to fend off 12 attacks.

The Lumberjacks took the win 5-1.
