The Windemere Township Board of Supervisors passed the following measures at the regular meeting on December 12:

- Allocated the second-half taxes payment of $168,000 to the Road and Bridge fund.

- Approved the proposed 2020 budget expenditures of $1,064,210, with the understanding that adjustments may need to be made to accommodate road work bids.

- Reappointed Henry Gretsfeld to represent Windemere Township on the Moose Lake-Windemere Sanitary Sewer District Board through January 1, 2024.

- Set a special meeting for 6 p.m. January 2 with the board, treasurer, clerk and maintenance department at the request of Road Maintenance Supervisor Mike Buetow to discuss contract discrepancies and wages.

Buetow said, “This is in regards to our treasurer going outside of his scope of work of his duties, breaking Minnesota statutes.”

“Basically, these are gross misdemeanors and wage theft,” said Buetow. He asked that the meeting be conducted in private. Due to open meeting laws, however, that must be an open meeting, Clerk Scott Danelski emailed Tuesday. There will also be closed union negotiations that night.

Treasurer Ron Mossberg asked to see a copy of the documentation Buetow distributed to the board, adding, “Since the treasurer ... pays the claims that the clerk provides, and the board makes all decisions ... This is the first I’ve heard of any of this.” Copies were made and given to Mossberg at the meeting.

- Buetow also requested copies of all documents related to a case brought against him by a former board.

Chair John Wesely said, “I will do that.”
