Blue Santa Cops for Kids Toy Drive

December 5, 2019

The Moose Lake Police Department is keeping the spirit of Christmas alive with a toy drive aimed to help local families this holiday season. Last year the police department had "shop with a cop" but with the area's Shopko now closed, the "Blue Santa" Cops for Kids Toy Drive was created so they could continue to have a local holiday event to benefit the community.

Acting Chief Mike McNulty said in a recent phone interview that they are working with the area schools to find families that need a cheery boost this holiday season. Last year, they also distributed gift cards for Marketplace Foods so families could purchase food for a holiday meal.

They are collecting toys for kids up to age 17. Money donations are also accepted and can be made at the police department or Tony Stewart Motors. Drop-off areas for toys are at the police department, Dollar General, and Tony Stewart Motors. The collection ends on December 16th so be sure to donate before then!

If you have any questions, contact the Moose Lake Police Department at (218) 485-8404.
