The Lady Rebels Hockey season started out hosting the Hilltoppers of Duluth Marshall on November 7.

The evening began with the Hilltoppers taking control of the puck first and speeding down the ice towards the Rebels' Jo Wekseth in goal. Wekseth was able to fend off the attack and the Rebels grabbed the puck to head towards the Hilltopper goal only to have the puck knocked loose and stolen from them. The Hilltoppers' Gracie Thomas, with the assist from Meredith Boettcher, scored first at 15:51.

The faceoff would again go to the Hilltoppers, but the puck would be stolen away by the Rebels. The Rebels then went on the attack and the Rebels 'Mackenzie Hoffman, with the assist from Sandra Ribich, slid the puck past the Hilltoppers' Charlesa Prior in goal, at 12:21.

It would then be a back and forth battle with the puck as the second period would see both goalies working to keep the game close.

In the third period, the Hilltoppers came out with force as they continually attacked and out shot the Rebels 12-2. The Hilltoppers took the lead at the 5:19 mark with a shot from Victoria Thorson with the assist by Caitlin Breen. The Hilltoppers took the win by a score of 2-1.

The Rebels were outshot by the Hilltoppers 32-12. Jo Wekseth stopped 30-32 shots on goal, and Charlesa Prior stopped 11-12 shots on goal.
