On October 15 the Rebels hosted the Carlton Bulldogs, last year's section 7A champions, for their final match of the season before playoffs. Before the game started, a moment of silence was held for Jackson Pfister of Esko who recently passed away. Players on both teams were wearing blue ribbons in honor of Jackson. Everyone in the gym shared a moment of somber solidarity.

The first set began with an ace serve by Rebels' Sarah Christy. It took the Bulldogs a few rallies to warm up before they plowed ahead, taking a strong lead. Rebels' Ally Jensen-Fichtner made a number of impressive and resounding digs against the Bulldogs' spikers. As usual Rebels' DonnaMae Smith had a lot of nice footwork on the court. However, the Bulldogs attacking power led them to win the first set 25-12.

The Bulldogs charged ahead in the second set. Rebels' Ellen Anderson and Smith made an excellent team block that had the crowd cheering. The set ended on a very long rally, with one of Carlton's players making a save with her foot, and the Bulldogs took the win 25-4.

There was a change in momentum for the Rebels in the third set, who initially took the lead on the scoreboard. However, the Bulldogs tied it up and then sailed on ahead. Bulldogs' Sam Matarelli and Ava Grondahl each made a number of powerful spikes and kills. The third set ended on a Bulldogs' victory, 25-11.

For the Rebels, DonnaMae Smith had 5 digs and 6 set assists, and Ally Jensen-Fichtner had 11 digs.
