Senior Jordan Fjosne carried the ball 10 times scoring a touchdown on Senior Night.

On Wednesday, October 16, the Moose Lake Willow River Rebels were host to the Pine City Dragons for their last regular season game. The night started out with a moment of silence for number 15 for the Esko football team, Jackson Pfister, who lost his life on the Aitkin football field a week ago. It was also Parents' Night. The Rebels left with a victory, but the score was 2-0 until the third quarter.

Quarterback Mason Olson threw for 94 yards, Eli Werner rushed for 101 yards and Carter Johnson was leading receiver. Bradley Ignaszewski sacked the Dragon quarterback and scored a safety for the first two points of the game. Blake Juhl, Duane Broughton, and Jackson Thompson recovered Pine City's three fumbles. Juhl had 67 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Jordan Fjosne rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown. The Rebels ground game was impressive with 228 rushing yards to Pine City's 55 yards. Rebels had 94 passing yards to Pine City's 173 yards.

The Dragons kicked off to the Rebels to start the first quarter. The Rebels got three first downs and were on the 15-yard line with 7:51 left in the quarter. Pine City got the ball due to a Rebel fumble. On Pine City's third down and eight on their own five-yard line, the Rebels tackled the ball carrier in the end zone for a safety and two points.

The second quarter the teams went back and forth on the field without either team scoring. With seven seconds left in the half, Pine City had fourth down and nine yards to go when they got a false start penalty. On their fourth down they attempted a field goal with one-second left that failed to go through the uprights.

After halftime, Freshman Sam Knezevich kicked off to the Dragons. Rebel Duane Broughton was able to recover the ball, but the Rebels couldn't get it into the end zone due to a false start penalty and a dropped pass. Rebels got the ball back with 4:04 left in the third quarter, and Juhl powered it into the end zone from the one-yard line. Rebels led 8-0 because the two point conversion failed.

In the fourth quarter and with eight minutes left in the game, it was Juhl again with a two-yard touchdown run. Logan Orvedahl ran in the two-point conversion. Rebels led 16-0. Dragon quarterback, Konnor Jusczak, ran a keeper into the end zone for six. The two-point conversion failed. Pine City's onside kick didn't go ten yards, the Rebels fell on it. With 1:46 left in the game, ball carriers Juhl, Werner, and Fjosne got a third down and three on the three-yard line. Fjosne took it in for six. Rebels kicked to the Dragons and Jackson Thompson recovered their fumble. Rebel Philip Sheetz came in to quarterback and their last regular season game ended Rebels 22 and Pine City 6.

Rebels (6-2) finished in first place in the Section 7AA QRF standings and were given a bye in the first round of playoffs. They will host the second round on Saturday, October 26, against the winner of the Royalton and Eveleth-Gilbert game, which was played Tuesday. Crosby-Ironton is second and also received a bye. They will play in Crosby, the winner of the Mesabi East and International Falls game also on Saturday.
