Suicide Awareness Memorial Walk

October 24, 2019

From the Carlton County Task Force for Suicide Awareness & Education Towards Prevention:

We'd like to thank everyone who came to our 11th Annual Suicide Awareness Memorial Walk held on Saturday, October 12, in Carlton. About 200 people walked in memory of loved ones lost to suicide. This Walk is so important in remembering lives lost to suicide, bringing public awareness to this deep concern, and offering hope, encouragement, and support to the families and friends.

We'd also like to thank the following businesses who have generously donated refreshments and supplies each year for the Walk: Upper Lakes Food, B&B Market, Kwik Trip, Gordy's Warming House, Arrowhead Water, Third Base Bar, Walmart, Carlton High School for letting us host the event there, Carlton County Sheriff's Office and Fond du Lac Police Department for traffic control, and Fond du Lac Ojibway School Drum Keepers. Also a very special thank you to all the volunteers and student volunteers who help make this such a successful event, to our speakers, to WDIO-TV, Fox 21 News, WKLK Radio, Fond du Lac Radio Station, Pine Knot News and Pine Journal for promotion and coverage of the Walk.

Please mark your calendar and join us yearly on the second Saturday of October. Next year's Walk will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

Again, thanks for your continued support!
