Bombers take Cook County in 5

Bombers' Kendal Miletich winds up with the serve.

The Barnum Bombers hosted the Cook County Vikings on September 26 for five sets of volleyball.

The first set win was secured by the Bombers 25-18. However, the Vikings took the lead in the second set and managed to keep it the entire time. Barnum suffered from their spikes hitting out of bounds and the Vikings eventually until took the win 21-25.

The third set began with the Vikings building a lead but the Bombers tied it back up at 17-17. Bombers' Lacie O'Leary hit a spike so hard that the receiving bump had the ball going into the ceiling. The Bombers kept on the heels of the Vikings and drove the score up past the 25 point mark, until the Vikings inched ahead to win the third set 26-28.

The fourth set saw the Bombers pull ahead by a wide margin, taking the win 25-13.

The fifth and final set had a series of long volleys, with spike kills by O'Leary and Reese Miletich with the Bombers eventually winning the set 15-11 and taking the game.

For the Bombers: Reese Miletich had 17 kills, 17 digs, and 1 ace; Alina Lekander had 12 kills, 25 digs, and 1 ace; Lacie O'Leary had 8 kills, 15 digs, and 5 aces; and Brooke Doran had 44 set assists, 16 digs, and 3 aces.
