JV/Jr. High runners compete in Hermantown

The ML/WR/Barnum Cross Country Varsity runners had the week off, but the JV and Jr. High competed in Hermantown at a run that was specifically for the JV and Jr. High kids.

The run was divided into 3 races (7th, 8th, and 9th). The 7th grade girls only had 1 runner (Brooklyn Peterson) who ran the 1 mile race in a time of 9:08.9. The 8th grade girls ran with 8 girls. Lilly Petty led the way for the Rebels squad with a time of 7:20.05. Shannon Granquist was 2nd for the Rebels with a time of 7:32.7, followed by Elle Nielsen with 7:59.0, Lillia Jordan (9:05.6), Addie Hanson (9:08.2), Addison Geil (9:16.1), Jocelyn Mundell (9:18.1) and Brynn Kamp (9:20.4). Rayna Klejeski was the only 9th grade girl to run with a time of 9:02.9. The 9th graders ran 2000 meters (approx. 1 1/4 miles).

The 7th grade boys ran with 4 runners. Chet Giersdorf-Thompson was the top runner for the Rebels with a time of 7:52:9. He was followed by Max Petry (8:38.1), Levi Anderson (9:10.2), and Ray Langhorst (9:18.0). The 9th grade boys ran with 4 runners with Gavin Thiry running with the best Rebel time at 8:41.5, Ryden Anderson (8:42.2) Everett Gamst (8:51.2) and Kellen Harder, finishing with a time of 10:34.1. No 8th graders ran for the Rebel boys.

Varsity, JV and JR. High compete in two meets this week. Tuesday (17th) in Grand Rapids and Saturday (21st) at the Milaca Mega Meet - the biggest meet in the state. If you are able, come cheer them on. Go Rebels!
