The Barnum Bombers headed out on the road Friday the 30th of August to take on the Warriors of Deer River for the begining of football season.

The Warriors won the coin toss and elected to defend in the first half. The Bombers took the kickoff and found little room to move with the ball. The Bombers were forced to punt the ball after failing to find a rythm on the field, but the short punt gave the Warriors great field position. The Warriors took their opening play and drove the ball into the end zone past the Bombers, with the two-point conversion being successful also.

The Bombers' Reed Kornovich was injured in the first half of the game and left early.

The Bombers continued to struggle both offensively and defensively as the Warriors pounded the ball down the field and led the Bombers 35-0 going into half time.

In the second half, the Bombers found the opportunity to score a couple touchdowns. The Warriors, however, would not give up and continued to score. The Bombers would head home having fallen to the Warriors 53-14 to regroup and prepare for their next game taking on the Rebels of Moose Lake Willow River on Friday, September 6.
