A fair day at the Minnesota State Fair

This last weekend I went down to the Minnesota State Fair with my mom and couple of my sisters. I haven't been to the fair in over ten years so I was curious to go back and see what I've been missing out on.

The weather cooperated and we had a fun ride down (me plus lots of caffeine early in the morning while I'm still partially asleep equals unfiltered hilarity).

Anyway, we got to see the massive Percheron horses, pet some animals, eat the tasty fair food, watch the parade, buy a few items at the merchant mall, and get swallowed up by the growing swarm of people.

People watching can be pretty amusing. Hearing little kids' excitement and squeals of delight is adorable.

I'm not a big fair enthusiast but I enjoyed the day for the most part. My allergies did their darndest to make me miserable, unfortunately. By the time we got back to the car, I was completely stuffed up, my nose was running nonstop, and my voice sounded terrible.

By far the best part of the day was hanging out with my family. We haven't gone out like this in a while so we had a blast. We tend to get goofy when we're together and it gets even better when we decide "hey, we're never going to see these people again so we don't care what they think about how weird we are." At least, that was my mindset.

We got home late in the evening and I just crashed. I ended up sleeping most of the following day recovering from the adventure and my allergies.
