Andrew Zabel runs in for first place overall with an official time of 58:51.

Early in the morning on July 20, racers lined up on the beach of Moosehead Lake for the start of the Moose Lake Triathlon. Despite the hot and humid week preceding the race, a cool breeze off the lake brought relief for a mild day.

The race concluded with 55 finishers. Andrew Zabel of Sartel, Minnesota took first place with an impressive time just under an hour to complete the 0.4 mile swim, 12.5 mile bike, and 3.4 mile run race course.

Craig Prudhomme, who has been the race director for six years, is stepping down as of this year.

"It is humbling to be able to support an event where people challenge their personal limits with the support of our wonderful community in a beautiful setting," said Craig. "This is a win for all involved and the Chamber Triathlon Committee would like to see it evolve with new leadership."
