New meters delayed

The installation of the new meters throughout the Moose Lake Water and Light Commission has been delayed until August, Superintendent Harlan Schmeling reported to the commissioners at the monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 21. Customers will be notified when the meters will be installed in their neighborhoods.

The fast chargers for electric vehicles have arrived but other equipment for installation had not yet arrived, Schmeling added. Those will be installed in the liquor store parking lot soon.

The new windows for the power plant are expected to be installed late in May or the first part of June, Schmeling reported.

A new website is up and running. Sally LaPatka Iund reported that a kick-off had been held to show customers how they can make payments for electrical usage online but no one came.

Another kick-off will be held. A link to the website is on the city’s website, it was said.

The next meeting of the water and light commission will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 3 p.m.
