Barnum School Board accepts resignations

The Barnum School Board acted on a light agenda at the monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 21.

The board accepted the resignations of Dustin Collelo, the girls varsity basketball coach, and Jodi Collelo, the girls junior varsity basketball coach.

The board also accepted the resignation of Allen Lund, a paraprofessional in the elementary school, and approved hiring him as an elementary teacher.

The board also accepted resignation for retirement of Lori Koski, who has been the choral teacher.

Dillon Reed-Fuglestad was hired as the classroom and vocal music teacher. Board Member Jamie Fuglestad abstained from that vote.

The board approved the increase of school lunch prices by 10 cents a meal for the 2019-2020 school year to be in compliance with the federal paid lunch equity requirements. The lunch prices will be $2.70 for the elementary school, $2.80 for the high school, and $3.80 for adults.

The board also approved a quote of $17,485 to replace the school sign with a LED sign. It was said that the funds for the purchase could only be used for those types of purchases and it was important for marketing.

Superintendent Dave Bottem had said at a previous meeting that the LED sign will allow more information to be displayed in color and changed more frequently.

The working board meeting was set for Tuesday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the board room.
