Sarah Christy for the Rebels at the pitcher's mound.

The MLWR softball Rebels defeated the Pine City Dragons in Pine City April 29 in 6 innings by the score of 14-0 pushing their record to 6 wins and 2 losses. Freshman Gabby Gamst tied a state record that was last accomplished in 2006 when she hit 4 doubles, each reaching the left or left center field wall. Senior Lilli Skelton pitched a 3 hit shutout and also went 2-3 at the plate with a double and 3 RBIs. Also contributing to the 18 hit attack were Ashley Grutkoski 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs, Janna Bode 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored, Natalie Mikrot 2 for 5, and Maci Kukuk 2 for 4. Dallis Kukuk at shortstop and Liili Skelton on the mound also made several nice fielding plays.

Gabby Gamst tied a MSHSL record set in 2006 by Ashley Schmeling of Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City by hitting 4 doubles (all off the outfield fence) in one game.
