7th Grade Rebel Boys place second at tourney

Moose Lake Willow River 7th grade boys basketball traveling team won 2nd place in a big tournament at St. John's University. It was an 8th grade tournament with teams from Pequot, Albany, St. Cloud, Armstrong, Chanhassen, and Brainerd. The Rebels' first game was Saturday, February 23, against Albany. The Rebels won by 22, 39-17. Sunday their first game was against Brainerd. Many fouls were called and both teams struggled at the free throw line. MLWR made 8 out of 19 and Brainerd made 10 out of 21. At the half, it was Rebels 14, Brainerd 8. In the second half, the game was tied with a few minutes, but the Rebels pulled it out, 28-22. That win put them in the championship against St. Cloud. St. Cloud won 46-29. Each Rebel player received a trophy.
