Lady Rebels roll over Bombers

Natalie Mikrot led the scoreboard for the Rebels Tuesday night, putting up 18 points against the Braham Bombers. Rebels ultimately came out on top, 68-40.

The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels took on Braham in Moose Lake on Tuesday. The Rebels started out slow in the first three minutes but quickly found their form on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The defense yielded blocked shots (two), rebounds (16), steals (13) and overall aggressive play that led to turnovers which transitioned into shots and scores for the Rebels.

The Rebels were up 8-0 in the first five minutes but the Bombers began a come back of their own scoring a quick five making the score 10-5 Rebels.. Braham was within five points from the Rebels before the three points started to fall for ML/WR. Dallis Kukuk and Natalie Mikrot led the Rebels in the three-point makes, netting four, totaling 12 points each, and Meghan Granquist had one for three. The Rebels took control of the game after the first 10 minutes and never looked back. Natalie Mikrot led Rebel scoring with 18 points followed by Charis Blacklock (16) and Dallis Kukuk (14). Other scorers for ML/WR were Ellie Schaumburg (four), Meghan Granquist (four), Carmen Hoffman (two), Sarah Michels (two), Monica Mikrot (two), Ella Rhoades (two) and Maci Kukuk (two). Rebels were victorious 68-40.

Coach Padrick Judd commented, "It was a great team victory! This was probably the most complete game we have played thus far. I am very proud of the girls taking care of the basketball and finding the open shots in the offense. Defensively, the girls continue to get better each game. Hopefully we keep it rolling into the holiday tournament."
