MLA girls' hockey takes a loss

The Moose Lake Area Rebels girls hockey team fell to a tough Hibbing-Chisholm team 6-0 on Thursday, Dec. 13.

Julia Jusczak got her in her first varsity action in goal this season, and faced 15 shots in the opening period, stopping 13 shots. Jo Wekseth went the rest of the way and faced 34 shots the last two periods, stopping 30 of them.

The Rebels had 13 shots on goal, which included six shots each in the first and second periods.

With the loss, the Rebels are now 2-9 on the season. They are scheduled to play a game this Tuesday, against North Shore, who the Rebels beat to open up the season. Their other win this season is against Superior. The day after Christmas, they will be playing in the Schwan's Cup in Blaine.

They will return home on Friday, Jan. 4, in a game against Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City.
