Bombers begin with a win

Barnum Lady Bombers traveled to East Central on November 27 for a 37-33 victory over the Eagles.

The East Central Eagles started the game with a six-point run on the Bombers. Jessica Korpi of the Eagles would start the scoring, landing one of two free throws. Not long after, Sofie Seibert scored a three pointer and Korpi put up two more points giving the Eagles a 6-0 lead.

Bombers' Jordyn Marine would answer the scoring call going to the line landing two for two free-throws then adding four more points to tie the game up at 6-6. The Eagles and Bombers would continue to trade scoring and went into halftime with the Bombers leading by a slim margin, 15-14.

The second half of the game continued much the same way, being a back-and-forth battle for points between the teams. But the Bombers came out on top with the four point victory over the Eagles, 37-33.

The Eagles Bella Lourey-Bowen led the team with 10 points, with Sofie Seibert following close with nine points. Jessica Korpi would add in an additional five points, while Bria Walz contributed three points. Holly Grundmeier, Delaney Beckman and Yaqara Simon would put up two points apiece giving the Eagles 33 points. Jordyn Marine led the Bombers with 12 points, followed by Makenzee Schleret and Kendal Miletich both with seven points. Reese Miletich would go to the line to add in four points, while Mallory Agurkis put up 3 points from the line. Lacie O'Leary and Danna Weets both added in two points apiece to give the Bombers 37 points.

The Bombers shot 75 percent from the line, landing 15 of 20 free-throws. The Eagles would shoot 60 percent from the line landing nine of 15 points from the free-throw line.
