Moose Lake Covenant Church hosts Operation Christmas Child drive

November 8, 2018

The week of November 12 will be National Collection Week for shoe boxes being prepared by individuals for distribution by Samaritan's Purse to needy children and their families throughout the world. In the Moose Lake area, the collection point for shoeboxes will be at the Moose Lake Covenant Church (705 5th St) per the schedule as shown below. This year, 2018, marks the 25th year for this ministry administered by Samaritan's Purse, and about the 15th year that the collection point in Moose Lake has been at the Covenant Church. Last year we were able to send 426 boxes to the consolidation point in Duluth which were then added to others collected in the Upper Midwest Region which collected just over 555,000 shoeboxes. The regional goal for 2018 has been set at 600,000 shoeboxes. Those will then be added to upwards of eight million shoeboxes collected throughout the US. Last year's total around the world was nearly 11 million shoeboxes. If you would like to be involved in the program this year, please stop by the Covenant Church and pick up an empty shoebox or two and the information telling more about 'how to pack a shoebox' and how your effort may impact children and families throughout the world. You can also find more information about the program and how you can be involved by going on-line to
