MLWRB Girls' Varsity takes first

The Proctor Lions Invitational was an exciting day for the Moose Lake-Willow River-Barnum (MLWRB) Cross Country meet. They started out the meet by winning both the Girls' Single-A JV and Varsity races. This win was especially exciting for the Varsity team as it was Girls' Varsity Team's first ever win in team history. Additionally, all the MLWRB girls ran at least a season-best, with many PRs (Personal Records) as well. The first ever MLWRB Girls Varsity team to win a meet and Girls' Varsity Proctor Invitational Single-A Team Champions were Coriella Sheetz fourth for single-A in 20:34.6, Kelli Granquist 6th in 21:10.3, Lilly Petty 12th 21:51.4, Laya Danelski 16th 22:11.6, Sarah Michels 18th 22:15.0, Lexi Tekippe 20th 22:19 and Savannah Gamst 24th. For JV it was Kyra Heaton third in 23:27.6, Esther Vogt fifth in 23:34.0, Rayna Klejeski 6th in 23:39.8, Delaney Koecher 10th in 24:06.7, Meghan Granquist 14th in 24:49.2, JoJo Fossum 16th in 25:19.8, Jocelyn St. Pierre 17th in 25:21.7, Kelly Crump 39th in 28:37.8, and Anna Molis 48th in 32:09.6.

The Boys' Varsity and JV teams both placed second. Many of the boys also ran Season-best or PR times. Maverick Koecher finished ninth with his first ever sub-18 performance, a 17:42.9. He was followed by teammates Johnathan Daneski 13th in 18:02.5, Danny Whited 14th in 18:08.1, Tan Dipman 24th in 18:46.4, Spencer Lower 25th in 18:48.9, Joseph Mikrot 30th in 18:57.6 and Lake Doran 44th in 19:37.8. In the boys JV race it was Connor Clauson scond in 19:08, Shawn Bailey sixth in 19:52.1, Wheeler Anderson 14th in 20:48, Everett Gamst 15th in 20:54.3, Ryden Anderson 23rd in 21:20.1, Levi Granda 30th in 21:46.8, Carl Halverson 34th in 21:59.7, Nate Jungers 39th in 22:17.6, Blake Overland 44th in 22:48.9, Anson Vargo 49th in 23:23.0, Carter Gran 52nd 23:35.4, Winter Bowstring 53rd in 23:49.6 and Andrew Burn 63rd in 26:40.8.

The Girls Junior high team placed third for single A. In the Single-A 3200 meter race Shannon Granquist was second in 10:09.3, Lillia Jordan was 12th in 10:54.0, Ella Heaton was 14th in 11:07.4, Elle Neilson was 19th in 11:37.2, Riata Klejeski was 24th in 12:13.7, Addie Hanson 31st in 13:02.5 and Kaitlyn Siedlecki 39th in 19:27.4

This was the last meet for all but the varsity teams who will compete in the Sections Championships on November 25.
