Lacie O'Leary, jumping, played a pivotal role along with Mallory Agurkis (7) in turning the night around for the Barnum Bombers.

Bombers' volleyball started their playoff season on the road, headed up the North Shore to Silver Bay to take on the Mariners.

In the first set, the Bombers would struggle to find their pace on the floor as the Mariners would dominate and end the first set 25-6 over the Bombers. Though the second set, the Bombers fared a little better, they would ultimately fall to the Mariners 25-2. In order to advance to the second round, the Bombers had to win the next three sets. The Bombers delivered.

They found new life in the third set. Lacey O'Leary and Mallory Agurkis led the Bombers in an incredible comeback, taking control of this set. They took the third set, 25-18, over the Mariners. Early in the fourth set, the Mariners jumped out to an early lead, but the Bombers would slowly find a way to crawl back into the game coming from at least five points down to tie up the score. The Bombers would then trade point-for-point with the Mariners until late in the set when Barnum came out on top, 27-25.

The fifth and final set would be all Bombers. The ladies jumped to an early lead and never looked back. With a final set score of 15-5, the Bombers took the victory for the night, three sets to two over the Mariners. The Bombers will now head to Carlton to take on the number one ranked Bulldogs on Wednesday, October 24.
