Blaze Hurst goes up for the pass from Tyler Nynas at Barnum's Homecoming game Friday, October 12.

It would be a chilly evening on Homecoming night when the Barnum Bombers hosted the Braham Bombers.

Taylor Westendorf and Sam Goodwin were crowned as Homecoming Queen and King last week. From left to right, Arraya Laitinen, Sydney Baier, Hailey O'Leary, Jessica Schatz, Lauren Peaney, Queen Taylor Westendorf, King Sam Goodwin, Tyler Nynas, Max Salzer, Jacob Nynas, Nathan Moors and Sean Korpela.

The night quickly heated up with Barnum putting up the first points on the board with 7:09 left in the first quarter. Bombers' Jake Nynas would find room in the end zone for the first points of the night, with the two-point conversion being successful. Just over a minute later, the Bombers of Braham answered back, finding the end zone with their two-point conversion also successful. The game was tied, but that would be the last time, as the Barnum Bombers defense would find a way to hold their ground and not give Braham much room to advance from that point. The first quarter ended with an 8-8 tie.

By the time the teams headed into halftime, Barnum led 22-8 over Braham. The second half of the game belonged to the Barnum Bombers - Braham would not score for the remainder of the game. With 8:05 left in the third quarter, Barnum scored once again. They did not stop there, continuing to score a few more points and walk away with the 42-8 victory over the Braham Bombers on Homecoming night.
