Barnum grads head to trap nationals

Barnum senior students Sam Godbout and Noah Unkelhauser participated in the first USA Day Target League National Shoot from July 12 to 15 in Mason, Michigan.

"On Saturday, we shot four rounds of 25," reported Godbout. "Noah ended up getting 94 out of 100. He was ranked 406 out of 1,368. He was six shots from shooting in the championship. I shot 89 out of 100. I was ranked 776 out of 1,368."

Godbout and Unkelhauser, both seniors who have graduated, were grateful for the opportunity to compete.

"It was a great experience and we were glad that we were able to do it," said Godbout. "Noah and I drove for 12 hours from Duluth. My parents met us there and watched us shoot on Saturday. We are pleased with our results."

The trip was sponsored by Environmental Consulting and Testing, Inc.
