He is instrumental in organizing the annual golf tournament held at 29 Pines in Mahtowa and past cribbage tournaments. Wayne is a member of the MN Deer Hunting Association & Minnesota Trapper Association. Other hobbies include: reading, walking, golfing, and "cribbage with the boys at the coffee shop."

Rose is a 1969 graduate of Sandstone High School. Hobbies include: reading, walking, gardening, baking, and volunteering for hospice compliments her retired RN career. She has been a member of the BACC for 17 years. Rose is known as "cookie lady" and provided her bakery treats since the start of the BACC tree lighting held in November each year. She is involved with the Miss Barnum pageant. The best part of that pageant Rose remarked, "In two months time, watching each girls self confidence grow and a person just blooms."

Both share the love of volunteering at the Barnum Area Community Church. Activities sponsored by the church such as fundraising, Wednesday night suppers and fellowship will always be greeted by this couple with warm smiles and infectious laughter.

Wayne encourages anyone in the area to join and check out the club. "We need young blood. Every meeting is fun, light, and kidding around." says Wayne. Yearly fundraising is then distributed during meetings to organizations and clubs looking for financial help.

Yearly, the club provides a scholarship for "Dollars for Scholars", biannual band/choir trip for BHS, and many other organizations. The newest vision for club is to help with the cost of going back to school for students and teachers.

Please check out all of Spring Fever Days activities this June 7-10. Cheer on this grand couple Saturday, June 9 at the Parade in Barnum.
