The fire is suspicious in nature. If anyone has information about the fire, they should call the Carlton County Sheriff's Office at (218) 384-9520.

Kitchen fire

According to the Moose Lake Area Fire Department, firefighers responded to a kitchen fire in a second-floor apartment at 2015 Fourth Street in Moose Lake on February 7.

Upon arrival, it was confirmed no occupants were in the home. The firefighters entered the upstairs apartment and found the kitchen was fully involved but were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The house was checked for fire extension but none was found.

Though minimal water was used, the downstairs apartment had water damage.

Mutual aid was provided by the Barnum and Kettle River fire departments and Mercy Ambulance.
