MLA falls to Cambridge-Isanti

Moose Lake Area Rebel goalie Danny Whited and teammates Jack Ergen and Vern Anderson III block the goal as a Cambridge-Isanti player readies to take a shot.

The Moose Lake Area Rebels boys hockey team faced off against Cambridge-Isanti on January 23 and suffered a 6-4 loss, dropping their season record to 0-16.

The Rebels led out of the first period with scores coming from Andy Anderson and Mark Fossum, assisted by Jordan Fjosne and Andrew Burn.

Cambridge answered back with three in the second period. Fossum put up a point for the Rebels with help from Anakin Oswald, leaving the score even at the end of the second.

At the top of the third, Cambridge scored to take the lead, Fossum scored again with assistance from Oswald and Vern Anderson III. Cambridge then scored two more times to end it, with the final score being on an open net.

Cambridge shot 50 times against Rebels goalie Danny Whited, achieving a save percentage of nearly 90 percent. The Rebels play February 2 against Legacy Christian and February 5 against Mora/Milaca at Mora. The Rebels' final home game is against Southwest Christian/Richfield on February 9.
