Lady Bombers begin season

The Barnum Lady Bombers opened the 2017-18 basketball season hosting the East Central Eagles November 28.

The game started out slow as the Eagles and Bombers traded basket for basket. The Bombers took a slight lead going into halftime, 33-28.

The Bombers found their rhythm in the second half and took control of the game.

The Bombers were victorious in their home opener against the Eagles, 80-64.

Bombers vs. Blue Devils

The second game of the week had the Bombers hosting once again, this time to the Blue Devils of Virginia.

The Devils struck first and ran out strong against the Bombers. It was a slow start for the Bombers, but they soon found their way back into the game with Emily Miletich finding her way to the basket scoring 19 first-half points. Mallory Agurkis and Kendal Miletich both dropped three-pointers and Kaitlyn Skutevik drove into the lane for two points.

The Bombers headed into halftime trailing 28-27.

The second half saw the Bombers gaining ground and taking the lead for a short time. The Blue Devils would, however, regain the lead, after Emily Miletich fouled out of the game. The Bombers did not take the lead again.

The Bombers fell to the Blue Devils 58-54.

Emily Miletich ended the game with 24 points. Agurkis add 10 points. Skutevik added seven points. Kendal Miletich added six points. Lea Peterson returned to the basketball court this year and added five points and Elizabeth Carlson scored two points.
