Barnum Bomber Tyler Nynas uses some fancy foot work to make it into the end zone against the Giants.

The Barnum Bombers football team hosted the Mesabi East Giants on Friday, September 22.

As the game got under way, it seemed neither team showed up for the game. The first half found both teams moving the ball, but never finding a way to pound it into the end zone.As both teams started to drive the ball, a turnover would occur. This continued for the first half of the game. The score at halftime was 0-0.

During halftime, the Bombers fifth- and sixth-grade football teams took the field for what seemed to be a better game than the varsity was playing. Both young teams moved the ball well and showed the varsity how it should be done.

The varsity must have been taking notes, because as the Bombers came out of halftime they seemed a different team. They found ways of moving the ball and finally found the end zone.

The Bombers' first score came from Tyler Nynas with a 5-yard run, with the 2-point conversion failing in the third quarter.

Later in the fourth quarter, Anthony Robinson pounded a 1-yard touchdown run capped off by Nynas pounding in the successful 2-point conversion.

The Bombers added their third win for the season - the best season they have had in the last three seasons combined.

The Bombers will next travel to Hinckley-Finlayson to take on the Jaguars on Friday, September 29.
