The Outlawz compete in a tug of war competition during a break in tournament action August 5 at Braun Park in Cloquet. The Outlawz took home first place medals in the tug of war.

The Northern Outlawz played their final tournament of the summer season August 5 at Braun Park in Cloquet. The Outlawz started the day facing the Hawks of Hermantown.

The Outlawz started on top with a nice pair of runs. The Hawks threatened with a run, but the Outlawz added to their lead as they drove in three runs in the second inning. The third inning found the Hawks rallying to take the lead into the fifth inning. The game ended with the Hawks taking the 7-5 victory from the Outlawz.

The Outlawz next took on the Tigers of Northwestern. The Outlawz took the early lead, but with KayeLea Poirier stepping into the pitching circle, the Tigers took the lead and the back and forth battle began. When the Outlawz got the chance to take the lead, the Tigers grabbed it away. The game ended with the Tigers walking away with the victory over the Outlawz.

There was a break in tournament play as they had some fun with a homerun derby, a base running competition and a tug of war competition. The Outlawz struggled in the homerun derby, but Katlyn Buell had a nice showing in the base running competition taking second place. The Outlawz took first place in the U14 bracket tug of war.

The final game of the afternoon for the Outlawz had them taking on the Lightning of Northwest. The Outlawz again found themselves taking the lead early as they scored first.

Winnie Benjamin-Hall took her place in the pitching circle to face the Lightning. She fired only three pitches in the first inning as the Outlawz defense snagged the balls from the air or made the throw to first for the outs.

The Outlawz soon, however, found themselves falling behind the Lightning. The Outlawz fought to the end, but fell to the Lightning in the end.
