Willow River School's cafeteria and entrance hall in the midst of renovation are due to look much more presentable in the coming weeks.

At a special Willow River school board meeting July 27, the board considered and approved all proposals listed in the agenda regarding facility updates.

The proposals passed included structural changes to the ceiling of the auditorium and a cleaning contract to clean the classrooms prior to the start of school.

A new custodian was also hired, and the Long Term Facilities Maintenance Plan that is mandatory for all school districts to complete was approved. The plan essentially gives an oversight of the financial status of the district for the next 10 years to the end of 2027.

Lastly, the board granted the construction committee authorization to allow overtime and approve any change orders as needed to help ensure that all construction projects are done on time so the building will be ready when school starts in the fall.

Board member Bruce Bohaty anticipates the school should look much more presentable by the next meeting on August 15 compared to these pictures from July 27.
