Barnum sticks with Cherry to the end

Barnum Bomber Fallon Hartman drives the ball deep for a triple.

The Barnum Lady Bombers headed north May 5 to take on the Tigers of Cherry in a softball match that was rescheduled from earlier in the spring.

The Bombers struck first with Lea Peterson finding her way around the bases. Bottom of the first, the Tigers drove in a run to tie up the game.

The top of the second inning, the Bombers drove in a pair of runs to take a 3-1 lead over the Tigers.

The Bombers again drove in a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 5-1. The Tigers responded with a single run in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 5-2.

The fifth inning had both the Bombers and the Tigers scoring a pair of runs bringing the score to 7-4.

The sixth inning had the Tigers' bats coming alive as they added another pair of runs to bring the score to 7-6.

The Tigers defense held the Bombers' attempts to score in the seventh inning, while the bottom of the seventh the Bombers allowed the Tigers to score a pair of runs to end the game with the Tigers winning 8-7.
