Barnum Bombers softball on a roll

Barnum Bomber Liz Carlson makes the tag at home in the April 21 game against the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars.

After dropping the softball season opener to the Rush City Tigers 9-7, the Bombers regained control, winning the next three games - Cromwell Cardinals, 16-1; Floodwood Polar Bears, 18-4; and most recently, the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars 15-4.

The Jaguars matchup was originally scheduled to be the Bombers' home opener, but bad weather forced the game to be moved to the Jaguars' new softball fields in Hinckley last Friday, April 21.

The Lady Bombers softball team members seem to be on the same page this year as they have a young group of ladies with only a pair of seniors, Fallon Hartman and Amber Knight. Hartman, a Bombers veteran, retained her position in the outfield.

The Bombers took a strong lead over the Jaguars with back to back six-run innings to catapult them into a lead.

The Bombers are now scheduled for their home field opener April 25 against the South Ridge Panthers.
