The Barnum Bombers boys basketball team began their post-season playoff run facing the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars March 9. This was a matchup that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

It was a back and forth battle of scoring. The Jaguars started on top, but soon the Bombers made a run and took the lead. Then it was the Jaguars' turn to take back the lead.

The Bombers trio of Daniel Gilchrist, Reece Parks and Kyle Kielty all hit double digits, but came up just short. Gilchrist led the Bombers with 15 points, Parks added in 13 points and Kielty put up 14 points. Tyler Nynas had four points. Jaguar Travis Visser proved to be a powerful weapon as he scored 23 points on his own. The next closest scorer for the Jaguars was Trevor Johnson with 12 points.

The battle between the Jaguars and the Bombers came down to the final shot between two strong and determined teams, both wanting to advance to the next round of the Section 7AA tournament. Nolan Wickstrom came off the bench and put the final shot up with just seconds to spare. The ball hit the back of the rim and bounced out. The rebound came from Colton Ziegler, who put back the shot, but still was short as his shot bounced out.

In a nail-biter, the Bombers fell 57-54 to the Jaguars.
