Lady Bombers fall

The Lady Bombers hosted the Aitkin Gobblers Monday, January 23.

The game started with the Gobblers winning the opening tip off and striking first with a two point shot. The Bombers answered back with a three-pointer by Kaitlyn Skutevik to get the Bombers on the board. Skutevik added in a pair of free throws to give her five first half points. Bailey Wheeler went to the line to drop a pair of free throws for two first half points. Emily Miletich led the scoring for the Bombers with 12 first half points.

The Gobblers, on the other hand, put up 34 first half points to lead the game 34-19 going into halftime.

The Bombers came out in the second half with an aggressive attitude. The Bombers out-scored the Gobblers 40-39 in the second half, but the damage was already done in the first half, as the Bombers were not able to overcome the deficit.

Britney Mike came off the bench to put three points on the board in the second half. Skutevik added another two points in the second half for a game total of seven. Sydney Baier came off the bench late in the second half to drop the long ball for three points. Wheeler dropped three long balls and drove the lane for two points, giving her a game total of 13 points. Miletich added 10 second half points to give her a game total of 22 points. Mallory Agurkis came to life in the second half and dropped a pair of threes, while also taking the ball to the hoop for an additional four points and going to the free throw line for a point, making her game total 11 points.

The Bombers fell to the Gobblers 73-59.
