The Moose Lake/Willow River U12 little league T&M team finished the season 9-3 and were seeded No. 3 in the Carlton County tournament playoffs. Their first game was Sunday, July 24, at Twilight Field in Moose Lake. Cloquet Ulland Brothers were the visitors and were handed the loss by T&M 13-9. It was a tough night for the pitchers as the two teams put up 23 runs combined. There were 20 hits, including nine extra base hits in the game. Sam Dewey recorded the win for T&M striking out seven, walking two and giving up four hits. Caden Privette got the save.

Ethan Burton and Sam Dewey teamed up for seven hits and seven RBIs. MLWR had three home runs in the win. William Ziegler homered in the first inning, Burton and Sam Dewey homered in the fourth.

Cloquet took an early lead scoring four runs in the first inning. After the third inning the lead stayed with MLWR. Two in the top of the fourth by Cloquet made the score 7-6 T&M. Bottom of the fourth MLWR scored five runs of their own. Caden Durkin scored on a groundout and RBI double by Luke Dewey, a two-run home run by Sam Dewey and a solo home run by Burton. In the fifth, T&M scored on a passed ball and error. Cloquet scored one in the top of the sixth, but it wasn't enough and T&M won in five and half innings.

Other players scoring in this game were Chance Lunde, Sam Denton and Jayden Alleman.

This put T&M in the semi-finals against Barnum Gold on Tuesday July 26, at Cloquet Braun Field. MLWR downed Barnum Gold 8-3.

Burton struck out 11 batters, allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks in six innings.

MLWR went up for good in the first inning, scoring three runs on a two-run home run by Ziegler and an RBI single by Sam Dewey.

T&M added three more runs in the fourth. It started out with a single by Luke Dewey, scoring Durkin, followed by Sam Dewey's triple, bringing home Luke Dewey. Luke was three-for-three at the plate scoring two runs and two RBIs.

In the fifth inning Barnum scored twice, but MLWR responded as they scored two runs of their own in the fifth on an RBI single by Durkin and an RBI single by Luke Dewey. Barnum didn't cross the plate in the sixth and the game ended 8-3.

This win placed T&M into the championship game held on Thursday, July 28, against the No. 1 ranked team, Cloquet Rage Broadheads, at Braun Field. Cloquet won 11-1.

T&M was not able to get a hit and the only run scored was on a walk by Luke Dewey in the first inning. Sam Dewey was the losing pitcher and Privette came in to pitch in the third. The game only lasted four and a half innings before the 10-run rule applied in the fifth. Earlier in the season T&M defeated them easily 11-3 in Cloquet.

MLWR ended their season Thursday as runner-up in Carlton County.
