On Saturday, April 2, the Moose Lake/Willow River sixth grade girls traveling basketball team went to Grand Rapids for the Region 7 Pacesetter Tournament.

In the first game they faced Bemidji, who built a quick 10-point lead. The girls did their best and got as close as four points, but could never quite catch up and ended up losing 36-23. Bemidji went on to win their next game to get them into the championship game.

In the second game, the Rebels knew they had to win against a team from Pillager. Playing hard as a team with great defense they went on to a 30-9 win. This led them to the consolation championship game against Virginia. Starting off strong the Rebels went on to another win by a score of 34-18.

With the Rebels winning the consolation championship they get invited to participate in the Pacesetter Minnesota Invitational Tournament (MIT) on June 18 in St. Cloud. Next up the Rebels will play on April 10 in the Pacesetter Region 4 Tournament in Willow River.
