Many furry faces and a multitude of snowmobile creations are found at TJ's Third Annual Beard and Mustache Contest held in conjunction with TJ's Third Annual Vintage Snowmobile Chat-Expo-Swap Meet on Saturday, March 5, at TJ's Country Corner in Mahtowa. Artfully crafted wood burned plaques were presented to the winners of both contests.

The following represents winners in the beard and mustache categories: Longest Beard, Keith Fine of South Range, Wisconsin, with an 11 inch beard; Fake Beard, Diane Lingle of Kettle River, pictured with snowmobile contest People's Choice Award winner Doug Bumann of Hanover; Freestyle Beard, Mike Neault of Barnum; Best Mustache, Jeff Morrison of Cloquet; Short Beard, Jeff Thompson of Mahtowa; Partial Beard, Tony Hartung of Cloquet. In the snowmobile categories, winners are: Best Original Sled, Sharon North of Maple Grove; Best Restored Custom, Bridie Dobosenski of Sturgeon Lake; Best Racing Sled, Dave Gruba of Malmo; Best Runnable Junk Pile, John Lingle of Kettle River; Best Relic Sled, Ed Carlson of Mahtowa; Best Ratmobile, Timmy Sylvestor Jr. of Kettle River; and Best of Show, Rhonda Clemens of Cloquet.
