Barnum girls fall to Braham

Barnum Bomber Emma Koski puts up the basket against the Braham defense.

The Lady Barnum Bombers hit the road and headed south to take on the Braham Bombers in a match that was a guarantee a Bombers team would win.

The game started with Barnum taking the early, but slim lead. Once the Braham ladies got their offense rolling it was a run past the Barnum players. Barnum made several attempts for the lead but as they closed in Braham took back control.

Braham had a good handle on Barnum's Emily Miletich, not allowing her many attempts to score. Meanwhile Barnum's Mallory Agurkis struggled to find her range for the long shot. Emma Koski did a nice job under the basket as she scored for the Bombers from the lane and from the free-throw line. Lexi Fuglestad took her chances at scoring and had a couple nice drives to the basket. Liz Carlson and Alina Skutevik both took their shots to aid in scoring for the Barnum Bombers. Meanwhile, Britney Mike again made her presence felt as she brought her energy and jumping skills to the game to disrupt Braham's offense.

In the end, however, it was the Braham free-throw shooting that made the largest margin as they seemed unstoppable from the line. Barnum fell to Braham 57-43.

The Barnum Bombers will start their playoff run on Thursday, March 3, taking on the Crosby-Ironton Rangers in the first round of the Section 7AA tournament.
