The Moose Lake Area Rebels girls hockey team put the pressure on the Duluth Marshall goalie all night long on Friday, December 18. The Rebels got revenge against the Hilltoppers from a loss earlier in the season and won the game 3-1, including an empty-netter.

The 20th-ranked Class A Moose Lake Area girls hockey team hosted and avenged a November 19 road loss to the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers as the Rebels won 3-1 at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake on Friday, December 18.

The Rebels defense did a great job, allowing the Hilltoppers only 10 shots on goal. The Rebels had 22 shots on goal. Maddy Gamst just missed earning her third shut-out of the season, but a Hilltopper clinked a puck off the crossbar that trickled across the goal line at 13:34 of the third period.

With no scoring in the first period, MLA got its first goal at :49 of the second period with Ruby Mohelsky scoring on assists by Jessica Paull and Lauren Pederson. Jamie Benzie scored on assists by Pederson and Jamie Bird for 2-0 at 11:11.

The final score was an empty-netter with three ticks left in the third period and was by Jessica Bird with an assist going to Jamie Bird.
