MLA girls split a pair

The Moose Lake Area Rebels girls hockey team recently split a pair. The Rebels lost 3-1 to South St. Paul at Wong Arena on Thursday, December 3. MLA out-shot the opponents 20-16, but went 0-for-5 on the power play while South St. Paul went 1-for-5 on the advantage. Maddy Gamst took the loss with13 saves.

The Rebels' lone goal was by Jamie Bird and was an even strength goal with assists going to Jessica Bird and Sage Gerard at 14:22 of the third period.

The Rebels bounced back to beat Henry Sibley 5-1 at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake on Friday, December 4. MLA out-shot the opponents 39-20 with Gamst earning the win in goal with 19 saves. MLA was 0-for-1 on the power play while Henry Sibley went 1-for-4.

Cassie Gassert had two goals. Jessica Bird had one goal and three assists. Sage Gerard had one goal and two assists. Jamie Bird had one goal and one assist.

The 6-4 Rebels are not at home again until Friday, December 18 when MLA hosts Duluth Marshall at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake at 7:30 p.m.
