Barnum Bomber Emily Miletich drives in and pulls up for the jumper over the Blue Devils defense.

The Barnum Bombers girls basketball team hosted the Blue Devils of Virginia in the Bombers second game under new coach Dustin Collelo.

The Bombers started out slow as they struggled against the size of the Blue Devils players. It was Bomber Emily Miletich leading the scoring, but it was Bailey Wheeler's three point attack that opened the center to Miletich.

Wheeler's early pair of threes drew out the Blue Devils' defense giving Miletich the ability to start pounding the ball down from inside. Much of the first half was spent with the teams matching point for point until Liz Carlson launched a long ball to give the Bombers the lead.

Miletich then took over and continued to pound the ball and lengthen the lead for the Bombers. The Bombers were in the lead 31-23 heading into halftime.

The Blue Devils had a new game plan in the second half as they began launching long bombs in an attempt to close the gap with the Bombers.

Blue Devil Hailey Aho landed four threes allowing her team to out score the Bombers 32-29. It as not be enough to beat the Bombers.

The Blue Devils won the battle from the free throw line going 11-of-19, while the Bombers struggled shooting nine-of-24.

Miletich led in scoring with 30 points for the night. Wheeler scored 11 points. Carlson ended with eight points. Agurkis scored six points. Megan Laine scored three points while Britney Mike scored two points giving the Bombers the 60-55 victory.
