Slow start to season for Rebels boys basketball


The Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels boys high school basketball team is now 0-2 this season, after losing to the Esko Eskomos on Tuesday, November 24. The action packed varsity game took place at Willow River High School.

The Rebels were down at the end of the first half by 35 points and continued to be outplayed by Esko in the second half.

The final score was 76-28, Esko. The Esko Eskomos are considered to be one of the best teams in the state.

Forward Rex Janke led in most points scored for the Rebels with 11, while guard Thomas Gulson scored a total seven points.

Next up for the Rebels will be another home game as they host the Mora Mustangs on Friday, December 4. Game time is at 7:15 p.m.
